Here it is – another episode of the Naked Truth. The Naked Truth is my attempt to shed light on field realities and to present challenging... situations in a rather stark way. The focus is on actual Water For People work, as is the case here, or in aspects of our work that we value and utilize, such as microfinance. The point is to spark debate, not for me to answer all the questions posed in a particular Naked Truth video. To date this objective has been achieved. The Naked Truth Uganda ...moreless

Even after an investment of finance and human resources to address the drinking water needs of a family or community and at the end of the day, the... subject scheme/technology is not serving the intended purpose – it is very sad. EF - F is more powerful and we need to give more emphasis. Twice I have tempted to do naked truth on our IEC poster - but, it is your series, I do not want to dilute it.moreless

Water For People and Akvo are in discussions regarding Field Level Operations Watch (FLOW), a leading data collection platform created by Water For... People. The collaboration will enhance FLOW's ability to support global monitoring in water and sanitation, and create opportunities for it to support other development categories. The combined strengths of the two organizations will accelerate advocacy, funding, licensing, and training. Discussions center on the future development of FLOW as an...moreless

FLOW has a lot of potential with other development areas, is very flexible... Congratulations, good way to increase the information access.

There is tremendous demand from the sector players to know more above FLOW and its application. I am sure Akvo partnership will help us to strengthen our FLOW platform to reach wide and far.

Ned, excuse me, I have a question, How is going the process with Akvo related to FLOW? It could be a very intersting to know in order to comunicate to... partners how the process of transition will occur or it is happening.moreless

I love Oxford, England. Great history, fascinating architecture and the certainty of another great week with the... dynamic Skoll Foundation community. Last year, Water For People was selected as a recipient of the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship. It was a humbling moment for Water For People, a great honor, and an award that gave us confidence that we may be on the right track programmatically. It has been a significant year for us at Water...moreless

I am writing a blog on the "MDG Success" recently announced by UNICEF and the WHO through the Joint Monitoring Program. It led me to dig back into my... "grey paper" from my days at WaterAid, where we started mapping work in 2004 using handheld GPS, SPSS to analyze data and clipboards with paper questionnaires. As I reread this I smiled though as it was a pretty early attempt at trying to figure out Everyone Forever as well as we tried to figure out what it would cost to get Sanga to full...moreless

So glad you're writing a blog about the MDGs given this week's "announcement" which has the unfortunate power to take people's eyes off the... long term prize and onto a short term pat on the back.moreless

Ned, I would really like to talk to you soon....ICDI has worked from hand held GPS, camera's and paper reports for some time and are now moving... towards some pretty cool electronics. Could we please talk on the phone as I need your insight into the issues and problems. M&E is important but I do not want it to wag the dog of trying to actually get sustainable water to people in villages. Jimmoreless
